This year Steven was nominated by AACTA for a best production design award on PARTISAN, before that Steven was brought up in Melbourne watching far too many repeats of Hogan’s Heros. He studied cinema studies at La Trobe University where he spent his idle hours in the library contemplating the meaning of language. His first essay entitled ‘BATMAN – Power & Knowledge as signifiers of narrative construction was awarded a C+. He came close to graduating but suddenly got busy designing pop music video’s in the 1990’s for bands he’d rather not listen to now. This quickly led to designing short films and eventually features. His latest collaborations were with Simon Stone on The Daughter, and Ariel Kleiman on Partisan. Steven has a particular interest in watching & designing films which gouge the limits of the human condition. When not designing films Steven can be found on his ranch in Utah plodding the foothills on his donkey Wayne.
